1st Learning Reflection

Today (Jan 5,2015), I  studied  with  Asst.Prof.Dr. Usa  Noytim  in  A  Discourse  Approach  in  Reading.  We  talked  about  course  description, objective,  contents,  lesson plan  and  domains of learning.   

 What  did  you  learn  in  this  lesson ?

I learned about genre of text and discourse markers which part unit 1 (Recount).
My teacher taught me identify genre of text and list of discourse markers. The text has six genres  include….

1.Cause  tells to make something happen and a result or an influence

Effect   tells a result or an influence

2.Definition  tells a description of the features and limits of something

3.Problem  solving  tells the process of finding solutions to problems

4.Procedure  tells  step

5.Classification  tells  a group that something is divided into

6.Comparison  tells  the fact of considering something similar or of equal quality to something else

Contrast  tells compare two people or things in order to show the differences between them

What  did  you  find  easy ?

I  thought, the genres of text is easy for me because I knew meaning of some vocabulary. So I identified genre of text. 

What  did  you  find  difficult ? (problem)

I  thought, the discourse markers  is difficult for me  because it’s so many words and different meaning.

What  did  you  solve  the  problem ?

I  consulted dictionary and my friend. 

What  did  you  attitudes  towards  the  lesson ?

I  feel  happy. The lesson isn’t  complex  for  me. I like to do activities with my friends and teacher  and  like  discussion (whole  class)
